What sectors and disciplines does HMJ Global recruit for?
HMJ Global specialises in mission-critical delivery across three primary sectors: data centre construction and commissioning, pharmaceutical and cleanroom manufacturing, and critical facilities operations. How quickly can you provide a shortlist?
Our typical shortlist turnaround is 48 hours from the point of brief capture. This applies to the majority of roles within our core specialisms. For highly niche or cross-border requirements, we'll confirm a realistic timeline at brief stage. Our five-step delivery process is outlined on the About page.
Do you recruit for permanent roles, contract roles, or both?
Both. We provide permanent recruitment from executive level down to site level, as well as contract and interim staff deployment for programmes requiring rapid mobilisation. We can also mobilise complete multi-disciplinary project teams where required.
Which countries do you operate in?
We operate across the UK, Ireland, and 12 EU markets including the Benelux region (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg), the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark), and Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy). Cross-border payroll and compliance support is included as standard.
How do you handle IR35 compliance?
For UK-based engagements, HMJ Global conducts role-by-role IR35 status assessments in line with the off-payroll working rules (IR35 Chapter 10, ITEPA 2003). We use documented Status Determination Statements (SDS) for all inside-IR35 engagements and can advise on umbrella company routes or PAYE arrangements where applicable. We do not place contractors outside IR35 without a defensible, documented assessment. See our Compliance section for more detail.
How do you manage compliance and payroll across EU markets?
We have established employer-of-record and payroll partnerships across our EU markets, enabling compliant engagement of contractors across multiple jurisdictions without clients needing local entities. This includes social contribution management, local employment law adherence, and in-country onboarding. Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes. HMJ-Global Ltd processes candidate and client data in accordance with the UK GDPR and, for EU operations, the EU GDPR (Regulation 2016/679). We maintain a Data Protection Policy, process data only for specified lawful purposes, and do not sell or share personal data with third parties outside of the recruitment process. Are you a member of any professional bodies?
HMJ Global is working towards full membership of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) — the UK's leading recruitment industry body. What does your fee structure look like?

Can you supply an entire project team rather than individual hires?
Yes. Multi-disciplinary project team mobilisation is one of our core service lines. We can scope, source, onboard, and support full delivery teams across CSA, MEP, commissioning, QA, and planning functions — including cross-border teams. See our Clients page for more on this capability.
How do you verify candidate suitability for regulated environments?
For pharma, cleanroom, and GMP environments specifically, we screen candidates for documentation readiness, familiarity with GMP/GDP frameworks, and relevant validation or commissioning certifications. We do not shortlist candidates into regulated programmes without confirming their documentation and compliance status upfront.

How quickly will I hear back after registering?

Do you offer contract and permanent roles?
Yes — both. We work across permanent, fixed-term, and contract/interim engagements. Many of the roles in our data centre and pharma pipeline are contract positions, including some long-running programmes of 12–24 months or more.
Do you cover roles outside the UK?
Yes. We are active across 12 EU markets including Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. We provide full cross-border mobilisation support, including compliance guidance for working in each country.
How does IR35 affect me as a contractor?
If you are a UK-based limited company contractor, IR35 status matters — it affects how you're taxed and whether you can operate through your own PSC (Personal Service Company). HMJ Global provides clear IR35 guidance and a Status Determination Statement (SDS) for every inside-IR35 engagement. If a role is inside IR35, we'll tell you upfront and discuss your options (umbrella company, PAYE) before you commit.
How does payroll work for contractors?
For UK contractors, we offer both umbrella company payroll and, in some cases, direct PAYE engagement. For EU contracts, we use compliant employer-of-record arrangements in each country. Payroll runs weekly. We aim to make the pay and deductions structure transparent from day one — no surprises.
Do you help with relocation or cross-border moves?
Yes. Candidate relocation support and cross-border compliance guidance is included as part of our service. We'll walk you through the practicalities of working in a new country — from tax registration to accommodation leads — as part of your onboarding and mobilisation.
Will you prepare me for interviews?
Yes. We provide role-specific interview preparation before each stage, including client briefing notes, likely question areas, and technical focus points relevant to the programme. We're with you through the process, not just at the point of submission.
How is my personal data handled?
Your CV and personal data is handled in accordance with UK and EU GDPR. We only share your details with specific clients after your explicit consent, and we do not sell or distribute your data to third parties. What is the typical length of a contract placement?
Contract lengths vary by programme, but data centre and pharma contracts typically run between 3 and 18 months, with many extending beyond the initial term. We'll give you a realistic picture of programme timelines and extension likelihood during the briefing stage.
What if there are no current roles that match my profile?
